CONNECTING US ALL - JOIN THE ARTS SOCIETY SOUTHPORT TODAY


Connect with like minded local people and make new friends through a shared interest in the arts.

We offer:

  • 10 varied and interesting lectures delivered by Arts Society accredited lecturers in the Atkinson
  • The chance to meet and socialise with people who have similar interests.
  • Opportunities to join in heritage projects such as trails of discovery and museum conservation.
  • The chance to join our day visits, special interest days, art films and holidays that take place throughout the year.
  • Regular local newsletters and updates.
  • The chance to be part of a society which benefits local arts and artists. We have recently sponsored and judged the entries for the Sefton Young Arts Competition.
  • The chance to be part of a national organisation for the Arts.
  • Online offerings from the Art Society including Instant Expert and Artfully Said.
  • Three editions per year of the Arts Society magazine sent directly to your home address as well as monthly Highlights and Instant Expert email communications.
  • But most importantly it is an opportunity to meet and socialise with local people who have similar interests.

  • Members exclusive William Morris Christmas Themed Afternoon Tea at the Grand
  • Art Films at the Bijou Cinema - Caravaggio (and cake in October )
  • Our first lecture in September The Life and Works of Andy Warhol
  • Curator Tour of the New Harris Exhibition  'Horrockses Fashions: Everyday Glamour & the Art of British Ready-to-Wear'.


The Southport Arts Society is part of the UK’s leading arts education charity. We are part of a network of over 380 local societies.

We meet at The Atkinson, Lord Street Southport
at 10:30 am on the third Tuesday of the month from September to June. (Please note the December and January lecture dates may vary)

We are now accepting membership requests for the 2026 to 2027 season.

Our membership year runs from September to June.

Our annual membership fee for 2026/2027 is £60

There is also a one-off joining fee of £10 for new members.
